TopStyle Pro - great CSS editor

Filed under: Products and Services — Dimitris Giannitsaros @ 02:52

Normally, I use my text editor (UltraEdit) for writing PHP, HTML and CSS. As the amount of CSS I write has increased lately, I wanted to check for a better solution.

Then I remembered TopStyle, an editor marketed as being specialized in CSS. Some months ago I had participated in a PHP contest (by Codewalkers) and had won a copy of TopStyle. I hadn’t tried it until yesterday.

It’s a really good editor, at least for CSS. It has some killer features like integration with the w3c validators and a style checker that validates CSS against different browsers. So you can see the quirks of every browser against each selector and property / value combinations you use. Finally it supports both Gecko based browsers and IE for previewing (offering a cool side by side full screen preview mode).

  1. Hi

The power of CSS is amazing. I’ve seen a few sites like this one where i’ve been blown away by what you can do. Alot of DHTML and other funkiness can be avoided if your clever with your stylesheet.

I want to manage a stick up footer on the website for IE 5.0 +. with CSS As you can see 1 on bmw.co.uk

    thanks
